Desert Daylight Invitational 2020

The DVCC Boys squad displayed its depth on Friday, September 25th at the Desert Daylight Invitational held at Mansel Carter Oasis Park in Queen Creek. 

The Thunder won the Seniors race with a total 58 points, placing 4 of their runners in the top-20. They were led by Wyatt Hanson who finished in 4th place with a time of 16:36. He was followed by Jacob Cardon in 12th (17:24). Noah Patch and Caleb Yaso were close behind in 16th (17:33) and 17th (17:34), respectively. Martin Fuller rounded out the scoring with a 26th-place finish (18:31).

DVCC took second in the Juniors race (57 points). Johnathan Estrada was the first Thunder runner to cross the line, finishing the race in 7th place with a time of 17:33. Blake Tuszynski in 16th (18:23) was closely followed by Will Perciballi in 17th (18:24). Parker Savage was next across in 32nd place (19:40). Mason Lipp completed the scoring with a 42nd-place finish (20:21).

Desert Vista placed third in the Sophomores Race (62 points), led by Stevie Saurini 11th place (18:16).  He was followed to the line by Max Worthen in 15th (18:52), Shaud Becenti in 21st (19:38), Josh Fossett in 25th (19:59), and Andrew Postik in 32nd (20:23).

The DVCC Freshmen won their race with a mere 28 points, placing 4 runners in the top 8 positions. Their charge to the tape was led by Aaron Martin, who crossed in 4th place with a time of 18:54. He was followed closely by teammates Kaden Evans in 5th (19:01), Mason Klann in 7th (19:03), and TJ Strubbe 8th (19:05). Jaxon Powers secured the victory with a 23rd-place finish (21:40).

Next up for the Thunder is the Desert Twilight Cross Country Invitational at The Links Golf Course in San Tan Valley on Friday, October 2nd.
