Western Equinox Cross Country Festival 2020

DVCC made the short trek to Freestone Park in Gilbert, AZ on Saturday morning September 19th to compete at the Western Equinox Cross Country Festival. With the Varsity taking the week off, the rest of the Thunder Boys squad delivered solid performances.

In the JV/Open Race, the DVCC Junior Varsity team tallied 70 points and raced to a second-place finish. The squad was led by Noah Patch, who crossed the line in 13th place with a time of 17:37. He was closely followed by Caleb Yaso in 16th place (17:45). Next across the line were Blake Tuszynski in 22nd (18:08) and Stevie Saurini in 23rd (18:09). Will Perciballi was the final scoring runner, posting a time of 18:14 for 27th place.

In the Varsity Race, Tyler Anderson posted a time of 16:33. His 22nd-place finish led DVCC to a score of 215 point, good enough for a sixth-place in the Varsity race. Nolan Billeter was right on his heels in 26th with a time of 16:37. A tight group of Thunder runners was not far behind with Jacob Cardon in 47th (17:18), Johnathan Estrada in 58th (17:28), and Chris Broze in 62nd (17:32) all crossing the line with a 14-second spread.  

Next up for the Thunder is the Desert Daylight Invitational in Gilbert on Friday, September 25th.
