The 2019 Arizona Cross Country Division-1 Section-3 race was held at Crossroads Park in Gilbert on Friday afternoon, November 8th.
The Dester Vista Girls Cross Country squad accomplished its goal of qualifying for the Arizona D1 State Championship Meet on November 16th by posting a second-place finish in the race.
The Thunder were led by junior Grace Ping (18:23), who finished the course in second place overall. The top-5 was rounded out by senior Co-Captain Maddy Shoemaker (20:17) in 8th, junior Quinn Boardman (20:25) in 9th, and a pair of freshmen in Bailee Christofis (20:29) in 10th, and Savannah Selin (20:50) in 13th.
Also competing for DVCC were seniors Julia Nelson (21:00) in 16th and Josephine Gregory (21:37) in 26th.

Join the Thunder this Saturday, November 16th at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix as they attempt to win their sixth Arizona D1 State Championship title in a row. Race time is approximately 8:45 am.
