Desert Twilight Cross Country Festival Recap

The DVCC Thunder Girls raced in the ever-popular Desert Twilight Festival in Casa Grande on September 27th. DVCC took 3rd in the Freshman race, led by medalist Savannah Selin, and took 3rd in the Open race, led by Maddy Shoemaker in 6th. The Varsity placed 4th in the top-billed Sole Sports Sweepstakes race, led by Lauren Ping, who ran a personal best of 16:49 for the 5k to finish second overall.

Woodbridge Cross Country Classic Recap

DVCC traveled to Southern California on Saturday, September 21st for the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, a huge meet that draws the Best of the West. The Thunder Varsity turned in a 6th-place finish in the top-billed Sweepstakes Race, led by Lauren Ping in 2nd-place overall (16:09). Desert Solstice Cross Country Festival Recap

The DVCC Girls made the short trip down I-10 to Tucson on Friday, September 6th to compete in the Desert Solstice Cross Country Festival. The squad turned in an impressive performance by winning the Freshman, Junior, and Senior class races, and placing second in the Sophomore class race. They also won the top-billed Blue/Gold sweepstakes race. Read more...

State Meet Recap

On Saturday, November 10th at Cave Creek Golf Course, the Desert Vista Girls Cross Country squad captured a fourth-place finish at the 2018 Arizona State Cross Country Championships. The team was led by Katy Clausen in 10th place (19:30), Olivia Thatcher in 13th (19:49), Maddie Shoemaker in 27th (20:32), Quinn Boardman in 30th (20:34), and Eve Boardman in 43rd (20:52). Also competing were Syndi Nedza in 77th (21:50) and Holly Hansen in 78th (21:50).
