n September, 21, 2019 the DVCC Girls traveled to CA for the Woodbridge Invitational meet to compete against several of the top teams in the nation.
In the Varsity Sweepstakes race, the Girls finished 6th overall with a team time of 1:27:17. Freshman Lauren Ping finished 2nd overall with a personal record time of 16:09.8 for 3 miles. The second scorer for the DVCC Girls was Senior Katy Clausen, who ran 17:26. Junior Olivia Thatcher 17:36, Freshman Emily Littlefield 17:46, Junior Eve Boardman at 18:14, Junior Quinn Boardman at 18:25, and Freshman Bailee Christofis with a time of 18:33; all ran new personal bests against a fast field.
Seniors Josey Gregory 18:12, Allison Estrada (18:43), Maddy Shoemaker (18:50), Julia Nelson (19:02) ran outstanding races against Varsity competitors from other schools and showed the depth of the DV Girls team.
With three Freshman in the Championship race, the DVCC Girls did not field a full team of five, but they did have outstanding performances from Freshman Savannah Selin, who finished 4th overall out of 208 girls with a time of 19:31. Chelsea Condon finished at 22:31, Bella Klein at 22:49, and Peyton Martin with a new personal best of 23:09.
In the Sophomore race, the DVCC Girls finished 2nd overall against a field of 15 teams. Ryan Sailors (20:44), Olivia Bagby (20:57), Parker Anderson (21:47), Regan Parnell (21:53), Ariada Woods (22:11), and Brynn Meinhardt (22:24) all earned top 35 medals in a highly competitive race of over 150 girls.
In the Junior and Senior Races, the DVCC team finished 3rd overall out of 23 teams and were led by Jessica Condon with a time of 20:27, followed by Junior Hannah Garcia (21:14), Junior Alicia McManus (21:24), Senior Kyra Mazanec (21:30), and Senior Claire Caviolo (22:27). Seniors Isa Argenziano (24:17), Sarai Ortiz (23:49) and Katie Spreitzer (24:10) all qualified for the highly competitive Woodbridge invitational.
