The DVCC Boys kicked of the 2026 season on Saturday, August 29th at the 32nd Chandler Invitational at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler. In the series of class-based races, DVCC was led to a 2nd-place finish in the Seniors race by Captain La'a Hancock, who placed 3rd overall with a time of 16:21. The Thunder took fourth place in the Juniors race, led by Carter Frisk in 6th (16:24). The Thunder did not compete in the Sophomore Race. Jack Jarvis finished 25th overall (17:37) to lead DVCC to a 9th-place finish in the 2.8-mile Freshman Race.
