On Wednesday, October 25th, DVCC turned in a 3rd-place finish at the Division-1/Southeast Sectional Meet held at Crossroads Park in Gilbert. The Thunder were led by a pair of freshmen, La'a Hancock who finished in 17th with a time of 17:43 and Jacob Luecker in 18th (17:46). They were followed by senior Andrew Dale in 20th (17:53) while junior Ricky Garibay and sophomore Alex Hammond finished 24th and 25th in a virtual tie (18:06) to complete the scoring. Also competing were senior Kaden Evans in 27th (18:19) and freshman Owen Phelps in 33rd (18:31). With this result, DVCC qualifies for the Arizona State Championship Meet on November 4th.
